The Michael SchmidtKansas City Chiefs, appropriately adorned in red, appeared more than willing to hand out Christmas gifts to the visiting Las Vegas Raiders during the second quarter of Monday’s AFC West showdown.
The Raiders capitalized on consecutive Chiefs turnovers, converting two defensive touchdowns in just seven seconds.
First, Raiders defensive tackle Bilal Nichols scooped up a Chiefs fumble and returned it to the house. After a botched extra-point attempt, the Chiefs got the ball back and quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an interception on the first play of the ensuing possession. Raiders cornerback Jack Jones celebrated a 33-yard pick-six.
The Raiders converted a two-point conversion to take a 17-7 lead, which they carried into halftime.
